May 3rd - Dianne Bersea - Member's Painting Critique
Dianne Bersea has adventured in the world of art for many years…”since I could hold a pencil!” An Honours graduate of Alberta College of Art and Design, her career spans diverse artistic endeavours from Fine Art and exhibit design to medical illustration and large public art installations. During an eighteen-year sojourn on Cortes Island Dianne delved into the magic of watercolour and how to simplify the landscape to its stylistic essence in various media. Dianne’s work resides in many collections from British Columbia to New Zealand. She now calls Penticton home and enjoys the colourful Okanagan.
Throughout Dianne has offered watercolour classes, art critiques, presentations on artistic principles and her creative process.
In artistically active years Dianne’s work was acknowledged with elected status in the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (founded by members of the Group of Seven), and AFCA signature status in the Canadian Federation of Artists. Regretfully, both designations have been allowed to lapse. But Dianne continues to draw, paint and enjoy art as a participant, mentor and viewer.
