Lynne Marand

I paint to explore and express my fascination with the world. Paintings are a perfect stage on which I deliver the drama of nature in figurative or abstract style.

I use emotionally descriptive colours, simplified shape and form as tools in my acrylic paintings. I love how acrylic colours can be vibrant or muted and range from transparent to opaque. I explore different techniques and methods of mixing and using this paint to create representations of the dynamics of nature on a two-dimensional platform.

Occasionally I will add texture to create depth.

I am intrigued at the beauty, the power of nature and the emotional reactions it evokes. My paintings show my passion for the beauty, the healing qualities and the value of nature.
