Jill Pelland
Jill Pelland is a Summerland artist who enjoys creating up close and personal compositions, of both animals & people, while focusing on the challenge of teasing out each individual's unique personality.
Jill's work has been inspired by 40 years of living with horses, dogs, farm animals, & wildlife on Vancouver Island, Garnett Valley Summerland, & Osprey Lake. Jill now lives & works from a home studio in the unique small town of Summerland in the South Okanagan. At the beginning of her art venture she was painting outdoor farm signs. Further desire to advance that work came when living at Osprey Lake, with moose, deer, bear, & owls coming right to the doorstep. Jill wanted to fill the cabin walls with the animals and colours of the outdoors! Jill paints what she knows - animals that she has had the privilege to live with, studied, and sketched. It is her hope that those who view her work will feel the passion she has for the subject and even feel the animal's thoughts.
